As an artist, I can say that I have always been in search of what is eternal in art; why some artworks seem to transcend time and place while others are here today and gone tomorrow. I was first drawn to art by the virtuosity of the artists of the Renaissance and Baroque.
As I learned more about the art of other cultures, I realized that there is more than virtuosity to art. There are enduring and less tangible qualities in great artists' work that I am still interested in. I have reached a stage in my work that my imagination has taken over. The perpetual and the less tangible aspects of life are the subject of my more recent works. I communicate through portraits and gestures, for I believe the human face is the most expressive of all subjects.
