I work primarily with large scale drawings executed in graphite, and small paintings in oil or acrylic.
Lately, I’ve been making digital art and large scale, mostly commissioned, paintings. I use a process not unlike the scrapings of etched plates used in printmaking, to achieve multilayered images through modifications, re-tracings, and cancellations. Elements often present in my work are a sense of locale, a hazy dreamy quality, vertigo, and mystery, with an undercurrent of humor or irony. I hope to tap into a wellspring of subconscious pressure points.
